Bob Boydstun passed away on July 6, 2010, at St. Thomas More Hospital in Canon City at the age of 81 years, 11 months. He was born on August 16, 1928, in Campo, Colorado, to Ottis and Velma (Crone) Boydstun. He married Joanna Walker April 16, 1949, in Raton, New Mexico. In 1952 they were blessed with a daughter, Micky Jo, and in 1954, a son, Michael Gene. Bob and Joan resided on a ranch south of Campo for 58 years farming and ranching. In August of 2007 they moved to Canon City to be closer to family. Bob was a talented musician and played with several bands throughout his life. During his lifetime he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by wife, Joanna to whom he was married for 61 years; daughter, Micky Jo (David) Marsh of Lamar, son, Michael (Melody) Boydstun of Canon City; grandchildren, Shane Boydstun, Shelby (Mitchell) London of Canon City, and Ashley (Matthew) Baca of Greeley; great-grandchildren, Melayna London and Kaylie Jo London; step-grandchildren, Megan (Bill ) Nixon and Linsey Marsh; step great-grandchildren; Jacob Nixon, Cortnee Nixon, Riley Nixon and Kordyn Nixon. Bob is also survived by a sister, Dorothy (Dwaine) Guymon of Branson, Missouri, a brother, Bill (Roberta) Boydstun of Felt, Oklahoma, and a sister-in-law, Nellie Scavarda of Canon City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, George Harris, baby sister, Betty Jo Boydstun, brothers-in-law, Harold Walker, Jr., Roger Casper and John Scavarda.
