Anna Margaret (named after her two grandmothers) was born on
December 18,1923 on the family farm in Haskell County, Kansas
and was the 6th of 7 children. The family moved to the new farm
in Stonington, Colorado when she was 7. She was the only grade
school student who played in the high school marching band
(drums) and also played piano and guitar by ear. Anna loved
sports and was very active in all sports growing up. She was the
captain of the girl's basketball team at Stonington High School.
She excelled in academics and won numerous spelling bees
against other schools and even older grades, attributing a lot of
that to her older brothers coaching her on math, spelling, etc., on
the family chalkboard at home.

In 1941, Anna Margaret graduated high school and moved to
Denver to attend Barnes Business College. At the age of 18, she
retained her first civil service federal government job at Lowry Air
Force Base (during WWII.)

Tragically, Anna lost both parents in 1944 and returned to the
farm along with sisters Elma and Fern to help her brother Johnnie
work the farm while brothers Cecil and George were away
serving in the military. She helped work the farm for 2 years.

In 1946, she returned to Denver and continued her civil service at
Lowry Air Force Base. While at Lowry she was the pitcher on the
girl's softball team and bowled 3 nights a week.

In 1952, she transferred from Denver to San Francisco to work
for the 6th Army Headquarters, 4th Air Force Reserve, then onto
Naval Research Development in 1953.

Anna married Charles Falk in 1954 and moved back to Denver,
worked at FHA, the Air Force Recruiting Station, and returned to
the Air Reserve Records Center until 2 months prior to the birth
of her first child, Charlene. She was incredibly proud of her work
history during the military war effort and working for all branches
of the military.

Anna Margaret spent the remaining chapters of her life as a
devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her
extreme love, guidance, and overwhelming positivity made her
the best role model that anyone could hope for. She was loved,
admired and adored by all.

At the age of 101, Anna Margaret was the last of her generation
of Traherns. She was so proud of her Trahern heritage. She grew
up with a strong work ethic, whole heartedly believed in the
Golden Rule and was a person of tremendous integrity, honesty
and objectivity. Anna was preceded in death by her husband,
Charles Falk; grandson, Scott Potter; siblings George, Cece (&
Edith), Ora (& WIllie), Johnnie (& Billie), Fern Copenhaver and
Elma (& Clifford) Wellman; and parents Commodore and Sophia
Trahern. She is survived by her three children, Charlene Falk,
Connie Potter (Chris), Johnnie Falk; grandsons, Jason Potter and
Michael Potter (Alexandra); and great-granddaughter, Sadie Scott
Potter. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts
