Obituary

Barbara Louise Hebberd, 69, passed away Monday December 17, 2018 at Parkview Hospital after a brief illness.  She was born June 13 th , 1949 to Myrl and Olive Greenlee.  She was the oldest of five children, the leader of the Clan, the voice of reason, the boss, and best of all, the one who made us laugh.

Barbara's younger years were spent in Vilas Colorado where she attended and graduated from Vilas School.  After graduation, Barbara moved to Texas where she attended beauty school and later worked for the Mayfair Beauty Salon before moving back to Vilas.  Sometime during the summer of 1969 Barbara was roped, "literally", into meeting Lin Hebberd and they were married in Anchorage, Alaska on April 2, 1970.  Barbara and Lin spent the next six years traveling the world wherever Lin's work in oil exploration took them.  One stop lead them to Pakistan where the two raised a pet monkey named Sam.  Barbara also learned that motorcycles were not for her when she hit the back end of a black donkey standing in the middle of a dark road.  After Pakistan they moved back to the States.

In July of 1975 Barbara gave birth to their first son Clinton Allen.  In 1976, they decided to make Aurora Colorado their home. On Christmas Eve 1978 they welcomed their second son Jaylin Michael.  In February 1980 they welcomed their third son Chad Eric.  In October 1991 the family moved to Houston Texas, and then in August 1993 Barbara, Lin and the boys moved back to Springfield Colorado to be closer family.

Barbara was an extremely multitalented artistic person.  She loved and knew just about everything there is to know about art. It was this love and talent for art that led her to a volunteer position teaching art for Springfield Schools.  "Miss Barb" enjoyed working with the kids and became a favorite teacher and livelong friend to many of her students.

Being a Mom to her boys and a Grandma to her grandchildren gave her great joy, love and happiness.  She enjoyed vacations near the beach where she could spend hours searching for sea shells, sand dollars, and sea glass. From time to time she would enjoy trips to casinos and she felt like she hit the jackpot if they had all you can eat crab legs.  She also enjoyed what nature had to offer when it came to watching the rain fall and all of the colors of a beautiful sunset.  Her greatest legacy to all is her sense of humor, having taught us all to laugh, even in the most difficult times.

She is survived by her husband Lin Jay Hebberd, sons, Clint (Beverlea) Hebberd, Jaylin Hebberd all of Springfield, and Chad (Keyna) Hebberd of Firestone, Colorado.  Grandsons, Marion, Malakia and Brady, granddaughter Kiley, step-grandson Tyson, step-granddaughters Symone and Meadow. Her siblings, Vickie Estep, Max (Debbie) Greenlee, Ronda (Rod) McGee, and Bruce Greenlee: brothers-in-law Adin (Janice) Hebberd, Marvin (Mary Ellen) Hebberd and sisters-in-law Linda Stringer Johnson and Velma Hebberd; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family and friends.
