Beverly was born November 21, 1952, in Lamar CO to Warren "Bud" Konkel and Alice Eleanor Konkel.
Beverly was reared in Walsh, graduated from Walsh High School and West Texas A&M University in Canyon TX. She worked in the banking industry for more than forty (40) years. Starting during her college years returning to Walsh in 1991, she began her most rewarding and most cherished career at Colorado State Bank of Walsh owned at that time by her father, Warren "Bud" Konkel. In 1993, under her direction as President, the business flourished and continued to serve the community. Beverly promoted her industry through personal dedication and commitment always aiming to ensure a higher degree of ethics, integrity and quality of service to the community and to the customers of the bank. Just as her father, Bud, Beverly was privileged to further entrench Colorado State Bank as an entity to serve the community and outlining areas and cultivate deep seeded relationships with those whom she was blessed to serve.
Beverly demonstrated the highest degree of ethical values in the workplace. She touched the lives of her employees with uncommon amounts of kindness, fairness and generosity, and instilled in them the virtues that she also instilled in her own family.
A devout family person, she was blessed with many friends and family who shared in her enthusiasm. An avid seamstress, she embroidered many beautiful afghans for her family and friends which displayed her genuine generosity.
Beverly was married to Van P. Freeman on May 30, 1981 which allowed her to become a mother to three wonderful daughters. Being known as Grandma Bev was her most proudest achievement.
Survivors include her husband, Van and three daughters as follows: oldest daughter Melanie Idler and husband Mike along with their two children Josh and Karysa all from Sundance WY; middle daughter Brenda Brunelle and husband Tim along with their two sons, Cody and Brye residing in Briggsdale CO; and youngest daughter Misty McClain and her three children Tucker, Tarrin, and Tailor all from Byers CO. Also included are sisters Lynda Noe (husband Gene) of Walsh and Gayle Callahan of Amarillo TX, four (4) great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
