Brent Joseph Alfrey, 45 years old, of Springfield, Colorado, departed this life on September 13, 2013 in Springfield, Colorado. He was born on October 10, 1967 to Vance Lee Alfrey and Vernell (Daly) Lyddon. He attended and graduated from Vilas School and attended college in Sterling, Colorado and Dodge City, Kansas. He married Brenda Holton in 1996. He had various jobs working as a farm hand, for Valley Irrigation Company in Greeley, Colorado and had a business selling pipe before moving back to Springfield.
Brent enjoyed farming with his dad and spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for baseball and NASCAR, and other sports. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and his children. He liked listening to country music, especially Toby Keith, who he would sing along with, with his children. Brent had a great laugh and liked to joke around and tease.
He is survived by his children, Shay Lynn Holton and Lexington Vance Holton of Longmont, Colorado; parents Vance & Beverly Alfrey of Vilas, Colorado, Vernell Lyddon & Raymond Dunn of Greeley, Colorado; sister Michelle Shull & husband Michael of Garden City, Kansas; sister Stephane Holton of Greeley, Colorado; stepbrother Brent Schroder & wife Colleen of Campo, Colorado; stepbrother Curtis Schroder & wife Beki of Campo, Colorado; 9 nephews, 3 nieces and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Brock Alfrey.
A memorial has been set up at Frontier Bank in Springfield Colorado in memory of Brent Alfrey for his children's education fund.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
