Charla R Schlager, 73, of Walsh, Colorado, passed away on November 1, 2020, in Walsh.

Charla was born July 26, 1947, in La Junta, Colorado, to Arthur A. (Bill) and Roma Stanton. After growing up and graduating from La Junta High School, Charla attended Southern Colorado State in Pueblo where she received her BS in elementary education. Following graduation, she took her first teaching position in Burlington. It was in Burlington where she met her husband, Jerry.

They were married June 3, 1972. She and Jerry lived and taught in Burlington for two more years before relocating to Walsh. In Walsh, Charla taught at Walsh Elementary School until her retirement in 2008. Charla enjoyed spending time working in her yard and reading, but her favorite time was spent with her family, especially her three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry. Survivors include her two sons Jay Schlager of Walsh and Jody Schlager of Austin, TX; and one daughter, Jena and husband Brent Oldham of Lakin, KS; and three grandchildren, Dane Schlager of Oklahoma City, and Colter and Taegan Oldham of Lakin, KS.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
