IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles David
Miller
September 26, 1946 – December 6, 2018
Charles David Miller was born in Poteet, Texas on September 26, 1946, to Harry and Opal Miller. Dave was one of eight children. His siblings included George, Jean, Harry, Jerry Don, Linda, Kenneth and Ronald Dean. On June 10, 1966, Dave and Patricia were married. To this union three children were born Lynette, Colleen and David.
Dave didn't receive much in the way of a formal education but living in many states including Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Utah, Arizona and Colorado and the varied employment opportunities taught him many skills that made him an experienced employee. Along the way Dave worked as a broomcorn johnny, sacker in a grocery store, carpet layer, worked for Owens Corning building and painting fiberglass boats, worked in a lime plant and in quarries. He did road construction operating a road grader. He worked for the town of Prescott Valley, Arizona, as a mechanic. He and his brother operated a welding shop in Walsh. At the time of his death Dave was working for the Town of Walsh utilizing all his past employment experiences to be a most valuable employee.
Many of Dave's skills came from trial and error. He would become frustrated if he couldn't figure something out but he would stubbornly persevere until he reached his goal.
Dave loved his family and his friends. He had a tremendous sense of humor. There was always a joke, a wise crack or a smirk for someone. His desire was that everyone got along and there was no arguing and fussing.
Dave enjoyed travelling and seeing different things. He especially enjoyed seeing the different colors as the seasons changed. He believed in God even if he didn't show or express it.
Dave passed away December 6, 2018, at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He will be missed by many and especially by those who survive; sister, Jean Rowe of Missouri, life partner, Rella Peoples and ex-wife, Patricia Miller, children; Lynette Christine Ruebush, Cody Peoples, Antoinette Colleen Miller and David Earl Miller, grandchildren; Jared, Shamarie, Patrick, Dustin, Megan, Opal, D.J. and Derek, great-grandchildren; Aiden, Austin, Madison, Emerald, Kinzley, Jayden, Jagger and Braxton.
