Obituary

Chester Ray Glover, son of Cliff Lee and Gay LaRue (Mathena) Coulter was born on November 3, 1958 in Elkhart, Kansas. Ray was a typical boy and loved to be outside and to work with the guys. He enjoyed helping on the farm. He liked to tinker with things to see how they worked. He learned to work at an early age, but he much preferred to do that over going to school. He went to school in Walsh and graduated from there in 1977. Ray had two sisters Debbie (Max) Greenlee, and Carol (Greg) Grahn, and one brother Troy (Tamara) Coulter. Ray also had three surviving stepsisters Debbie Lyn (Gene) Carlton, Della Cummings, and Docia (Allen) Cook.
Ray married Tammy Watson in November of 1976. Ray and Tammy had five children: Melissa Glover, Kristy (Bobby) Mercer, Jared (Samantha) Glover, Stacy Glover, and Kara (Steven) Watson. Ray loved his children and enjoyed teaching them to ride horses, and to watch them participate in sports. He also loved to take his kids camping and to go to the lake to fish and water ski. Ray and Jared enjoyed hunting together as well. Ray had six grandchildren, which were the light of his life; Drew, Alex, Conor, Tanner, Amber and the newest addition Kylin, whom he never had the opportunity to meet. Ray loved his grandchildren very much and was very comfortable having them around. Ray also had numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray spent most of his life doing what he loved; farming and ranching on the family homestead south of Walsh. He really enjoyed harvesting and riding the combine. He also looked forward to the yearly community brandings. All of the neighbors would help one another brand until everyone had their cattle branded. The thing he loved most however was raising his kids. Ray enjoyed horses and raising cattle, golf, bowling, water skiing, and playing cards. His favorite pastimes were taking a nap or watching WWF wrestling, the Denver Broncos, and westerns on TV. Ray had lots of friends, but he had a few great friends that helped him a lot over the years. No one was safe from Ray's endless pestering; it was a good sign that he liked them. Though he enjoyed BS'ing with the guys and spending time with family he was most content at home on the farm.
Ray departed this life on March 19, 2012 at his home south of Walsh. Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy, his grandparents Chet and Ivah Glover and Earnest and Carlyn Mathena, his dad Cliff Lee Glover, his stepdad Delbert Coulter, a stepsister Debbie Kay Maris, and a nephew Damien Greenlee.
