Obituary

Clarence Junior Doyle was born October 8, 1921, in Elkhart, Kansas, to Clarence David and Vernie Jane Doyle. He departed this life on May 12, 2010, at the Long Term Care Home in Springfield, Colorado, at the age of 88.

Junior's family moved to several places before moving to Vilas. He graduated from Vilas High School. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the army and served from June 27, 1944, to May 18, 1946. Clarence proudly served in the Southern Philippines and received numerous awards and honors. After returning from the service, Junior went to work at the Ford garage as a mechanic. Upon leaving the garage, he went to work at the family farm. He took over the farm from his father. After farming for many years, he started driving truck. He drove truck until he retired. Afte retirement, he spent many years serving the Vilas Community.

Clarence married Mary Homsher in June 1941 and to this union one child was born, Jane. They divorced and then he married Mildred Schweizer on August 3, 1947, and to this union their were four children born, Karen Sue, Larry, Jack and Craig.

Junior is survived by one sister, Ethel, his children,Jane and husband Jim, Karen Sue and husband Mike, Larry and wife Tancy, Jack and wife Melva, Craig and wife Tammy, 16 grandkids, 33 great-grandkids and a host of other relatives. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Jane, wife, Mildred, three brothers, John, Jesse and Chet, one sister, Cora, who died in infancy, one grandson, Nic Townsley, and one great-grandson, Austen Doyle.
