Darrell Wayne Harper was the 3rd son of Richard and Ylene Harper. Wayne, as he was known to all, was born August 11, 1950 in Springfield, Colorado, and departed this life on January 19, 2015. He is now walking pain free with Mom Ylene, Dad, Richard & brother Dale, who all preceded him in death.

Wayne grew up and graduated from Walsh High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree at Panhandle State University. His many career jobs were at City Market from carryout to assistant manager. He lived in Hugoton where he was a bookkeeper and later a truck driver. He told about some of his over the road drives, getting to see many big cities. He also worked in the grain business and his final job was the owner of Richard's Country Store. He worked there until his accident that left him a cripple, and numerous other health conditions. He has suffered through great pain from that day on.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his sisters: Mari Lee and husband Jim; Sherri and husband Mark, and brother: Larry and wife Judy; nephews: Jason Freiberger and wife Billie, Brandon Harper; nieces: Jessica Anderson and husband Cody, Charity Netherton and husband Tory, Erin Finley, Cassie Finley, Mitzi Jett and husband Don, Melissa Hegwood and husband JD; great nephews: Jaxon & Jaron Freiberger, Jerod & Kyler Netherton, Cody Moore, Trevon & Trace Hegwood; great nieces: Jaylie Freiberger, Alysa, Abigail and Annabelle Anderson, Lily Harper, Phalysha Kennedy and husband Colby; great-great nephew: Kagen West, 2 aunts, numerous cousins and friends.
