Danny Lee Cook, 72, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2026. Danny was born on June 10, 1954, to Roland and Cecil Fern Cook. He grew up in southeastern Colorado, attended high school in Walsh, Colorado, and continued his education at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado.

 After college, Danny returned home and began what would become a defining part of his life: farming and ranching alongside his father. He farmed and ranched successfully for many years, building his life around hard work, perseverance, responsibility, and a commitment to finishing every job. For Danny, sun-up to sundown was not simply a saying; it was a way of life.

On September 20, 1975, Danny married Laurie Ann Case. Together, they built a life and family that became Danny's greatest legacy. 

Danny was the father of Tatum, Keyna, and Casey and the proud grandfather (known as Poppy) to Kiley, Brady, Kobe, Jordy, and Baylor. His family was at the center of his life. No matter how demanding the farm or ranch became, Danny understood the importance of showing up. He was a devoted husband, a provider, a father, a grandfather, and an example to the generations who followed him. 

Some of the greatest memories he leaves behind are not found in awards or accomplishments, but in early mornings, long days, hunting trips, family gatherings, ballgames, stories, laughter, and ordinary moments that became extraordinary because they were shared together.  Danny did not know a stranger and could make a whole room laugh.  Treated every conversation as it was the only one.

Danny is survived by his wife, Laurie Ann Cook, his children, Keyna Hebberd and her husband Chad Hebberd, and Casey Cook and his wife, Kristen Cook; his grandchildren, Kiley Hebberd, Brady Hebberd, Kobe Cook, Jordy Cook, and Baylor Cook; his sister, Charolette Desilet and her husband, Ron Desilet; and many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched.

Because of his strong faith w know he is walking in heaven with God and family.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tatum Cook; his parents, Roland and Cecil Fern Cook; his sister, Sharon Powell; and his brother-in-law, Stanley Powell.

Danny's family will remember him not simply for what he accomplished, but for how he lived--working hard, providing for his family, showing up, remaining humble, finishing what he started, and giving 100%

Danny's battle with Lewy Body Dementia was part of his final chapter, but it will never define the story of his life.

His story will instead be told through the family he loved, the land he worked, the people he influenced, the lessons he taught, and the generations who will continue carrying those lessons forward.
