Danny Ray Selman was born June 25, 1954, in Roswell, New Mexico to Orval Ray Selman and Llyn (Wicker) Dillon and passed away November 7, 2024, at Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield, Colorado, at the age of 70.
Danny was the oldest of their 4 children. He graduated from Walsh in 1972. He then moved to Hooker, Oklahoma and started working as a lineman for Tri-County Electric. There he met and married Shirley (Decker) Dennis. To this union 2 children were born: a daughter, Carrie and a son, James. Danny lived in Hooker until he retired in 1996. He then moved to Eagle Nest, New Mexico, where he became a fishing guide, known as the 'fish whisperer'.
He moved back to Colorado in 2019 to be closer to his kids and grandkids.
His hobbies included playing drums, fishing and being the best papa to his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents and stepdad, RL Dillon. He is survived by his children, Carrie Selman and James (McKennna) Selman; grandkids Emilee, Christina, Hamilton and Kaidon Selman; siblings Ed (Kay) Selman, Ron (Lesa) Selman, Mary Jo Burns, Merlin (Beth) Dillon, Rhonda (Scott) Warren and Sonja (Jeff) Mugler. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
