Fern Evelyn Winkelman was born on September 1, 1918 in Bloom, Kansas.  Her parents were Claude and Luella Winkelman.  Fern was the youngest of 9 children.

Fern Winkelman married Robert Lewis Rader on September 21, 1935 in Buffalo, Oklahoma.  He was the love of her life and he always referred to her as his "Pretty MaMa".  During their courtship he wrote her often and she still treasured his Love Letters up until the last few years.  She would re-read them often.  She passed away 1 day after what would have been their 86 ^th wedding anniversary.  To their union came 5 children, Marlene (Bill) Ownsby, Mona (Wade) Myers, Bruce (Geri) Rader, Marilyn (Don) Albert and Mike (Josephine) Rader.

The family tree has grown throughout the years, to date there are:  17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 45 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great-great grandchildren and 2 on the way.

Fern Rader passed away on September 22, 2021 at the Walsh Healthcare Center where she had been a resident for the past several years.  She was 103.  There were many special care-takers at WHCC but there was one that Fern always knew her name, "Hossie" Darcie Semler no matter the day.

Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rader; daughter, Marlene Ownsby; daughter-in-law, Josephine Rader; son-in-law, Wade Myers; granddaughter, Julie Rader and infant granddaughter, Baby Lepel.
