Obituary

Harold Eastham Bryan passed to his Heavenly home on May 3, 2022 at the

age of 95. He was born on the family farm as the second son of Fred

and Lois Bryan and grandson of Jones Marion and Lucinda Bryan. He was welcomed home by his older brother Paul James Bryan.

Harold attended grade school at Konantz and graduated from Walsh High School in 1944. He was voted the most outstanding athlete his senior year. He often challenged his two boys to a race claiming he could beat them by running on one leg half the time. And without thinking and after the dust settled, he was right!

Harold was drafted into the US Army in the Fall of 1944, and in the summer of 1945, He shipped out from San Francisco headed for Asia. Thanks to the Bomb, he ended up in Korea for one year of duty.

He returned home to the family farm and later met and married Dorothy Lee

Twyford, daughter of Lee and Pearl Twyford of Stonington, Colorado. They were married in August of 1947 at Colorado Springs. They made their home on the farm for fifty years. To this union were born three children; Gary 1951, Dwight 1954, and Janet 1961.

In 1997, Harold and Dorothy sold the farm to their oldest son, Gary, and moved into Walsh to start a life of retirement, but Harold couldn't never sit still for long, and found work doing several jobs around town. He spent many years serving the communities of Walsh and Springfield while working at both county grocery stores. He finally gave up working at the age of 86. When Dorothy Lee died in 2012, Harold continued living in their home until he finally moved to the Assisted Living Facility in Walsh.

One of his favorite pastimes was playing Bingo with his fellow residents, and he often talked about the great care that he was receiving while living there. Harold took Bingo very seriously. So much so, that Janet would occasionally get phone calls that he had once again gotten upset at the outcome and now wouldn't come out of his room for supper. He also loved watching the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos. On his 80th birthday, he attended his first Colorado Rockies game and was so excited he even brought his baseball glove in case a fly ball came his way.

Harold never met a stranger. He would often tell his daughter, Janet, to just "drop him off" at the VA for his doctor's appointments, and pick him back up on her way home. He would grab a bag (or 3) of their free buttered popcorn, and spend the day making new friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Lee, his parents Fred and Lois Bryan, and his brother Paul. He was an honorable, hard-working man, with a life well-lived, who will be remembered and loved by us all.

He was survived by children: Gary and wife Cheryl of Walsh, Dwight and wife Jenny of La Quinta California, Janet and husband Larry of Walsh.

Grandchildren: Lance, Zachery, Chantz, Ciri, Kelsey, and Logan.

Great Grandchildren: Laykin, Jett, Gemma, Taylor, Jordana, Maverick, Audrey, Pierce, Camden, Major and Kennedy
