Idrys Pearl Hamilton was born July 18, 1934, in Stonington, CO to William Albert and Pearl Adelaide (Spence) Hamilton. She was the eighth of nine children. She departed this life on November 28, 2024, at the age of 90, while residing in the Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses, KS.

Idrys obtained her education at Vilas School in Vilas, CO. She married Glen Hutches on July 23, 1950, in Clayton, NM. And to this blessed union, five angels were born. Lovesta Gale (Gale Bindo), Victor Lynn (Bossy Bic), Preston Glen (Tarzan Preston Pigweed Hutch), Tamala Sue (Nose) and Robyn Yvonne (Ears).

Idrys is fondly remembered by family and friends from her previous employment positions at Vilas School, where she worked in maintenance, food service, and as a bus driver. She also worked at Southeast Colorado Hospital in their housekeeping and laundry departments. She served many years as a council member for the Town of Vilas. BUT… she was best known, even famous, for being a disciplinarian to all the kids in town. Just ask Joe Molina!! Bernice Grahn, the late Mildred Doyle, and Charlotte McGinnis accompanied her in this task. We kids didn't stand a chance!

Idrys was a woman of many talents. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens, canning the vegetables she grew, writing poems, sewing, crocheting, and the list goes on and on. Idrys was an amazing mother and grandmother and well-known for her lectures, which were always at least thirty minutes long. We all dreaded those darn things!

Idrys is preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl Hamilton; husband, Glen Hutches; sons Victor and Preston; siblings, Beatrice, Robert, Wilma, Walter, JC, Mary Jean, Deanie; baby Hamilton; and her great, great grandson Jaxon Henderson. Now Gale Bindo is the Boss. Lord, help us all!!

Idrys is survived by the new matriarch, Gale (Darrell-Durd) Henderson of Satanta, KS, Tamala (Craig-Snuffy) Doyle of Ulysses, KS, and Robyn (Heath-Tree Frog) of Lamar, CO
