Marguerite Wright-Partain, age 95, left this life on March 7, 2011, in the company of her loving family in Garden City, Kansas. She was born in Trenton, Missouri, July 1, 1915, to David Ross and Alta Victoria Field, the second child in a family of four children.
Marguerite spent her early years in Missouri until the family moved to Oklahoma. She spent her later childhood and teen years in Drumright, Oklahoma, where she graduated high school in 1933. She journeyed to Dallas, Texas, to attend beauty school, where she met her first husband, Raymond "Red" Wright. Red and Marguerite married on January 6, 1936. To this union four children were born; Patricia Ann, Jack Lynn, Jerry Wayne and Steve J. They farmed all their lives in Texas and Colorado. After Red's passing she met and later married C.F. Partain on November 25, 1974. He instantly became a grandfather accepting the responsibility with open arms. After C.F.'s passing she spent most of her years in Dumas, Texas. Marguerite created paintings and poetry which showed her love for life and displayed her passion for the "Art of Living".
Marguerite is survived by her four children, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, five great, great-grandchildren, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, two husbands and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Moore County Hospital Auxiliary in Dumas, Texas. Marguerite spent many enjoyable hours working there as a volunteer. Online condolences can be made at www.dykesmemorialchapel.com.
