Obituary

Julia Hebberd-Tate was born to Adin and Jessie Smith in Syracuse, Kansas, on November 30, 1916. She was raised in a loving home with two brothers and a sister.

She married Harry Hebberd and they had six children. Julia was left a widow at a young age and worked hard all her life to take care of her family. In later years she married Mac Tate and although still working they were able to do some traveling together until his passing.

Julia enjoyed a very active life and enjoyed traveling. She ventured to Australia on one of her many travels. This active life was curtailed when she fell at the age of 96, requiring two different surgeries to repair her hip. Julia then moved in the Walsh Healthcare Center.

She lived in Walsh most of her life and took great pleasure in watching her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids play any of their sports activities.

Julia was an avid card player and also loved to play marbles with family and friends. She loved the Broncos and the Rockies and watched their games every chance she got.

Julia departed this life on February 13, 2017, and is survived by 5 of her children; Adin (Janice) Hebberd of Walsh, Colorado, Marvin (Mary Ellen) Hebberd of Walsh, Colorado, Linda Johnson of Bonham, Texas, Lin (Barbara) Hebberd of Springfield, Colorado, Donnie Hebberd of Rolla, Kansas, Markema Hebberd of Portland, Oregon, and daughter-in-law, Velma Hebberd of Phillipsburg, Kansas (widow of son, Harry Hebberd). Two step-children, Ralph (Sharon) Tate and Fonda (George) Whitehead also survive. Julia was blessed with 13 grandkids, 23 great-grandkids and 13 great-great grandkids and many nieces and nephews.

Julia was preceded in death by husband Harry, husband Mac, son Harry, brothers Maurice and Scotty and sister Lillian. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
