Obituary
Lola Ann Murdock died peacefully at the Walsh Health Care Nursing Home on Friday, February 26, 2016 in Walsh, CO at the age of 79.
Lola is survived by her companion Geraldine Hamilton, her brother Roland Murdock and his wife Rita of Windsor Locks, CT, her sister Dolores "Dolly" Chaloux of Arlington, Va, a sister-in-law Barbara Murdock of Leeds, ME and 13 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eugene Murdock of Leeds, ME and 1 niece.
Lola was born October 9, 1936 in Lewiston, ME to Joseph P. Murdock and Marie "Louise" Auger Murdock. In 1955, she graduated from Monmouth Academy in Monmouth, ME and joined the Army in July where she received medical training and became a nurse's assistant stationed at West Point, NY. She was discharged from the Army in January 1960 with the rank of Sergeant (E5). She returned to Maine and attend classes for IBM Machines. In 1961, she moved to Denver, CO and worked for Jeppesen Sanderson (an aviation company) for 35 years as a personal computer specialist.
A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Dykes Funeral Home. The burial service with military honors will be held at the Leeds Plain's Cemetery in Leeds, ME this spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Lola's memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
