Obituary

Ethelyn "Lynn" Armenda Broyles Smith was born April 10, 1936 to James Nelson Broyles and Ola Bell Stephens Broyles in Snyder, Oklahoma. When she was young the family moved to San Diego, California.  She attended school in San Diego as well. She had 2 older brothers, Robert Travis and Marshall Bain.

Lynn was a loving fun mother, blessed wife, and spoiling grandma and great grandma. She married Richard Eugene Smith on Feb 15, 1958. They were the loving parents of 4 children Jerry Don, Nelson Marshall, Michael Louis, and Cynthia Lynn.  Occasionally she would have a niece or nephew staying with us for various times. What a blessing!

Lynn loved to play with the kids. Inside and out. She was involved in Pop Warner Football when Mike played and Spring Valley Bobby Sox when Cindy played.  She even played in a women's tackle football game. She wore the jersey of Chargers Bubba Smith

Lynn was an avid bowler. She won many awards. She loved creating things. She sewed, she painted, she did flower arrangements and many more things. Her favorite thing to do in her later years was porcelain panting.

After Richard retired in 1989 due to a disability, they decided to move 1200 miles to Walsh, Colorado. In Walsh Mom once again bowled. They were very involved in the Walsh United Methodist church. She enjoyed UMW, Singing, and teaching Sunday school for kids. Although her eyesight was getting very bad, she still made beautiful flower arrangements for her church.

Lynn had to give up many of her enjoyable activities eventually when her eye sight was affected by Macular Degeneration, but, only after she made sure she couldn't do it well enough (to her standards).

Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, and granddaughter Cori Renea Larwa.

She is survived by her children Don (Pat) of Springfield, Nelson of Walsh, Mike (Lila) of Bonita, California, and Cindy (Alan) Packard of Walsh. Also survived by Grandchildren Mike (Jamie) Smith of Springfield, Amy Smith of Gilmer, Tx, James (Lanail) Smith of Seminole, TX, Jason Smith of Marshall, TX, Jacob (Jennifer) Smith and Luis Smith both in  Bonita, California, Donnell Packard Smith, of Disney, Oklahoma, Tana (Jeremy) Strandlien and Carrie Packard both of Skiatook, Oklahoma. Angelica Smith and Anthony Gagliardi of Denver.

Lynn was blessed many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She has left a blessed heritage that we will cherish.
