Obituary

Mae M. Tinsley was born August 20, 1924, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Daniel D. and Wilda D. (Dow) Peters.  At 2 months old her father was killed in a work related accident.  Her mother passed away when Mae was 12 years old.  She went to live with her grandparents in Etter, Texas.

She attended Dumas High School where she met Seigel (Shorty) Tinsley.  They were married at her senior prom on May 2, 1942.  This union was blessed with 3 children; Charles, Daniel and Wilda.

She was a homemaker and worked for the Keyes Public School.

She loved the Lord and studied her Bible faithfully.  She wore out many Bibles.

Her life was a great tribute to her Lord and Savior.  She really enjoyed all of God's creations.  Mae and Shorty enjoyed camping, fishing, travelling and spending time with friends.

Survivors include; 1 brother M.T. and wife, Eva Davis of Carlsbad, New Mexico, 1 son Charles and wife, Janet of Fort Worth, Texas, 1 daughter Wilda and husband, Charley McKinley of Richfield, Kansas, 3 grandchildren Robert Tinsley, Scott McKinley and Meagan McKinley and numerous great-granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Shorty and son Daniel.

Mae passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Stanton County Long Term Care in Johnson City, Kansas.  A graveside service was at the Richfield Cemetery in Richfield, Kansas Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10:00 AM.

Memorial donations may be made to Breanna Aranda for Jazzy's Memorial Scholarship Fund at Heartland Tri-State Bank in Elkhart, Kansas.
