Mary Ann Russell Smith was born September 6, 1951, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Jess William Russell and Viola Margaret Hudelson Russell. She passed away August 20, 2016, at the Walsh Healthcare Center at the age of 64.

Mary attended elementary school in Kansas and California, and then attended Walsh Schools from the sixth grade to the twelfth grade, graduating in May of 1971.

Mary enjoyed doing needle work of various kinds including, embroidering, crocheting and plastic canvas. Going to yard sales was another of Mary's favorite activities. Watching television was an enjoyable pastime after she moved into Walsh Healthcare Center. She was a big Elvis fan and collected Elvis memorabilia. She also enjoyed listening to Donna Summer.

Mary is preceded in death by her father, Jess Russell; mother, Margaret Ratliff; siblings, Robert, Betty and Jess.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Carol (Robert) Thatcher of Goldendale, Washington; sister, Grace (Dale) Ratliff of Carthage, Missouri; step-father, Albert Ratliff of Walsh, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
