Obituary

Ogle Odell Cogburn was born January 3, 1918 on a farm in Denton County Texas. He departed this life at his home in Walsh, Colorado on March 6, 2017 at the age of 99 years and two months.

Ogle was the 4th child of William Ernest and Laura Valiera Cogburn. He came to Colorado with his family in 1921. He was 3 years old at the time. He attended school at the Drew school in West Wentworth, then the Stonington School, and finished his education at Walsh High School, where he graduated in 1935.

After high school, Ogle worked for a year at the Climax Molybdenum mine on Fremont Pass, near Leadville, Colorado. He was laid off with many others, due to the volatile nature of the mining industry. After military service, Ogle once again returned home to work on the farm with his brother Chesla. In 1946 Ogle bought his first airplane, a 65 horsepower Aeronica Champ. This was the beginning of long and colorful career in aviation, an occupation he dearly loved.

Ogle married Rose Marilyn Baker (Porter) on September 19, 1954. This union was blessed with 4 children, Marsha Ann, Stephen Douglas, Mary Denise, and Marla Jo. Ogle loved his family, and was an excellent provider.

Ogle is survived by his sister, Radine Hargrove of Walsh, Colorado; four children, Marsha Moller and husband Jerry of Amarillo, Texas; Stephen Cogburn and wife Debrah of Walsh, Colorado; Denise Jones and husband Clarence of Walsh, Colorado; Marla Houtz and husband Moe of Elkhart, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, Lance Moller, Ryan Moller, Jud Moller and wife Cory; Jennifer Cogburn, Sam Cogburn and wife Amanda; Tyler Jones and wife Carol, Monica Jones, Heather Jones, Tai Elder and husband Brandon, and Skyler Houtz; nine great grandchildren, Noah Moller, Matney Moller, MaKenzie Moller, Riley Moller, Jackson Moller, Samantha Moller, LeahJane Cogburn, Marley Jones, and Bodie Jones.

Ogle is also survived by two sisters-in law, Betty Pelley of Lamar, Colorado and Dorothy Porter of Springfield, Colorado; many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Ogle will be missed by all who knew him. He was a unique individual, intelligent and caring. He touched many people in his long and full life here on earth. May he rest in peace as he is gathered to his heavenly home.
