Today we are remembering and celebrating the life of Olive Marie Ackley.  Olive was born on December 22 ^nd , 1927, in Walsh, Colorado.  Edna Ozelle and Floy Eslick were her parents.  Her brother, Lloyd Eslick, is here from Laramie, Wyoming.  Her sister, Margaret McCauley, lives in Colorado Springs.  Her older siblings, Loren Eslick and Pearl Wilder, are deceased.

Olive and Roy Duane Ackley were married on May 1 ^st , 1945.  Their three children are Derril, Gloria and Wendelin.  They have seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Olive graduated from Walsh High School, and then in the 1960s graduated from Lamar Junior College, received her Bachelor's Degree at Panhandle A & M, and then earned  her Master's Degree at Adams State College in 1969.  She taught elementary school in Elkhart, Springfield and Walsh.  Adoration of children was a never-ending trait and enjoyment.  She played many games with her children.

Olive completed a floral correspondence course and had quite a "green thumb" in gardening of any kind.  Cooking, housekeeping and sewing were other things she excelled in.  Her college sewing classes reinforced her ability to serve as Walsh Home Economics 4-H Club Leader for several years.  Under her direction the club sponsored dancing lessons.  They performed a play to raise money to build the current Community Building.

Olive passed from this life on March 8, 2018, in Elkhart, Kansas, at the age of 90.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who invested a lot of time and heart in caring for  her family.

Olive's big, beautiful smile was always a welcome sight, and it remained to the end.  We miss her very much.
