Julian Packard was born on July 16, 1927 in Walsh, Colorado.  He was the first of seven children born to Osa Julian and Hattie (Arndt) Packard.  Julian departed this life on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield, Colorado.

Julian spent most of his adult life working as an electrician, a career he took great pride in.  In 1968, he opened Packard Electric in Walsh, Colorado.  Julian operated Packard Electric until 2009.  Julian was always immensely proud that both of his sons pursued very successful electrical careers of their own and always enjoyed visits with them about their current projects.

When Julian wasn't busy with his duties at Packard Electric, he looked forward to spending time outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  During the time Julian owned his own airplane, he loved spending time flying, giving him the opportunity to explore both familiar and new territories.

Julian and Lois Marion were married in 1947.  To this union, four children were born; Deloris LaVerne Packard, Lloyd Julian Packard, Kathleen Elaine Painter and Theron Lynn Packard.

Julian was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Loren Packard, Emmit Packard and Marion Packard.

In 1977, he married Phyllis Coulter.  She preceded him in death in 2009.

Julian is survived by his four children; daughter Deloris Packard, son Lloyd Packard and wife Brenda, daughter Kathy Painter, son Theron Packard and wife Brenda; his brother Alvin Packard and wife Francis, his brother Glen Packard and wife Glenna, his sister Jewel Eaton and husband Bill.  Julian was also blessed with 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Julian was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

The family will greet friends during a visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Dykes Memorial Chapel in Walsh, Colorado.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Walsh, Colorado with Pastor Daniel Bradford officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Julian Packard Memorial Fund.  Contributions may be left in care of Dykes Funeral Services, 335 North Kansas St., Walsh, Colorado 81090.
