IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rhonda Carol
Johnson
December 28, 1953 – May 6, 2025
Rhonda Carol Riddle was born on December 28, 1953, to Billy and Margaret Riddle in Columbia, South Carolina.
Rhonda's earliest memory was at the age of 5, she and her brother Mark, age 3, gained a new home when they began living with Uncle Doyle and Aunt Fredda Rodgers. They also gained a brother, Stan, who was the same age as Mark.
A five-year-old and two 3-year-old boys most surely gave Fredda a run for her money. What one couldn't think up the other two could!
Rhonda enjoyed the time she got to spend with her Aunt Shirley. Shirley's son, Mike, and Rhonda were very close and remained close as adults. Mike always insisted he was the oldest but that wasn't the case; Rhonda got to be the old lady first!
Rhonda began her education in Springfield School then attended high school in Campo, graduating in 1972.
Glen Johnson and Rhonda were united in marriage in 1972. They became parents to Jennifer Renee, Kay Lynn, and Michael Glen. Due to medical issues, they lost both girls when they were both young. Rhonda and Glen were blessed to have Michael and Sheila and Sydney and Parker to enjoy and to love. During their 53 years of marriage, Rhonda and Glen endured an incredible amount of heartache but they remained committed through all the ups and downs.
Rhonda enjoyed fishing. For several years the family made an annual trip to Port Aransas to fish the gulf and eat good sea food. She was very proud of her BLUE fishing pole.
Her family meant the world to her. She loved all her nieces and nephews and enjoyed spoiling them every chance she got.
If she were here today and you asked her what her favorite past time was, she would tell you she always loved watching Sydney and Parker's extracurricular activities, baseball especially. She hated to miss anything they were involved in and fortunately she didn't miss much.
Rhonda leaves her husband Glen; son Michael (Sheila) Johnson; two grandchildren, Sydney (Benjamin) Bell and Parker Johnson; brother Mark (Paula) Riddle; bonus brother Stan Rodgers and stepbrother Jeff Riddle to treasure her memory.
