Rosalie Hargrove Hume, 87, of Manter, Kansas passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2022 with her family at her side at the Walsh Healthcare Facility.  She was born on June 18, 1935 in Eva, Oklahoma to Albert Hargrove and Hattie Edgecomb, the youngest of eight children.

Her family moved from Eva to Walsh, Colorado in 1941, where she attended school, graduating from Walsh High School in 1953.  On April 10, 1953 Rosalie married Harold Lloyd Hume in Clayton, New Mexico.  In 1956, they moved to their farm in Southwest Stanton County and remained there for over 60 years.  Over the first seven years of their marriage, they had 5 children.  Not only was she busy mother, she helped with their farm and cattle business in many ways.  Her greatest joy in life came the day she became Gramma Rosie.  She spent as much time as she could with her eight grandchildren.

Rosalie was a very giving and loving soul without many needs.  She loved all God's people, never meeting a stranger.  She was at her happiest when she could do for others.  She worked hard and was always there for her family and friends.  Rosalie and Lloyd were avid rodeo fans, their favorites were the Dodge City Rodeo and the National Finals in Las Vegas.  She loved to play cards with her friends and family but the best was playing cards with her grandchildren.

Throughout the years, Rosalie lost her parents, Albert and Hattie Hargrove, all her siblings and all their spouses.  Her greatest struggle in life was losing her husband Lloyd in 2020 and her son Ken in 1983.

She leaves behind her sons, Greg Hume and Mamie, Rod Hume and Sharon, Doug Hume and Bonnie, her daughter, Charla Pauls, her daughter-in-law, Ronda Hume and her grandchildren, Jimi Nickel, Luke Pauls, Briar Fulton, Justin Hume, Riley Hume, Andie Hume, Allison Brown, Sarah Hume and their spouses, her step grandchildren, Todd Jenkins, Samantha Downing, Cole Eskew and spouses and 25 great grandchildren and one great granddaughter-in-law.
