Samuel Lynn Ellis was born to James and Zelpha Ellis on October 12, 1961, at Elkhart, Kansas. He was the baby of the family of nine children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Zelpha Ellis; two brothers, Norman Dale Ellis and Vernon Jay Ellis and his wife, Violet Mae (Wade) Ellis; one sister, Christina Carol Ellis; three nephews, Norman Dale Ellis, Jr., Byron Wayne Johnson and James Lee Ellis; and one niece, Nina Eloise Ellis.

He was an avid fan of re-doing old vehicles. When he was not working on vehicles, he liked to cook for his two brothers that he lived with and going to town and getting groceries.

Sam is survived by four brothers, Kenneth (Karen) Ellis of Elkhart, Kansas, Milton (Wanda) Ellis of Liberal, Kansas, Justin and Ernest Ellis of the home in Stonington; one sister, Gloria (Clifford) Johnson of Dalhart, Texas; Uncle Leon and Aunt Becky Ellis of Elkhart, Kansas, Aunt Pauline Piper of Walsh, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
