Obituary

Sandra Jean Butler, of Walsh, Colorado, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones at the Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield. She was 80 years old.

Sandra was born on August 25, 1945, in Stonington, Colorado, to Everett “Jack” Butler and Joyce (Eaton) Butler, both of whom preceded her in death. She spent her entire life in the Walsh community and deeply love her community and many friends.

She attended Lamar Junior College and later Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she met John Durward Clark. They were married on December 26, 1964, and later divorced. John preceded her in death on November 21, 2021.

Sandra shared 35 years of life with Jackie Caddick of Two Buttes. They grew old together, and Jackie cared for her during her illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Shawn Lane Clark; her grandson, Casey Colt Clark, son of Shawn Clark, her sister, Janice (Butler) Bush; and many dear friends.

She is survived by Jackie Caddick of Walsh; his sons, Jason Caddick and his children, Gage and Sawyer Caddick and Dustin Caddick; her son Chip Collin Clark, Shelly Wade, and their sons, Ryan Dale Wade and Jace Wade Clark of Springfield, Colorado; and her son (Jon) J. T. Clark and his wife Amber of Battlement Mesa, Colorado, and their children, Jonathan Thomas Clark and Elizabeth Katherine Clark.

Sandra was known throughout Walsh as the longtime owner of the local flower shop, which she operated for over 30 years. She had a deep love for creating beautiful arrangements for others during life’s most meaningful moments. She was known for being sweet, soft and kind, and she loved all animals-especially dogs, cats and birds. She found joy in caring for animals, gardening, and spending time with her dear friends. Above all, she loved her family deeply; her children and grandchildren were the center of her life. Her faith in Jesus was a guiding light throughout her life.

Sandra will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
