Steve was born in Muleshoe, Texas to Red and Marguerite Wright on October 16, 1954.  Steve was welcomed by his brothers Jack and Jerry and sister Pat.  Steve left this life September 21, 2021 at Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield, Colorado at the age of 66.

Steve graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1973 and married Marla Myers on July 7, 1973.  On February 10, 1974 they welcomed their first son Danny into the family.  Steve began farming and starting their life in Baca County.  On August 24, 1978 their second son Chris joined the family.  March 30, 1982 they welcomed daughter Amanda and she quickly had her dad wrapped around her little finger!

Steve loved to take the kids camping and fishing.  They shared many adventures.  Steve spent almost every day of his life doing what he loved best, farming.  He was a farmer who worked hard to provide for his family.

He met Kelly Mason at a dance at The Cove and they married there on February 17, 2018, and began their journey together.  Steve loved his wife and family dearly and was a good friend to many.  He loved music and dancing; it was his energy.  He loved playing his guitars and singing any chance he got (usually at 2 o'clock in the morning!).  His music was his energy and touched many where his words could not.  As he aged, he mellowed a little, sang a few more songs and traveled more with his wife and family.  Steve's favorite place was his farm, he loved driving around watching his crops grow.  We will never forget his love of the land.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Red and Marguerite Wright.  He is survived by his wife, Kelly Wright of Walsh, Colorado;  his children, Danny Wright of Walsh, Colorado, Chris Wright and fiancée Shanelle Jones of Walsh, Colorado, daughter Amanda Wright and Noor Ghamedi of San Diego, California; step-daughters, Kati McCormick of Buena Vista, Colorado, and Sarah Pargac and Joey of Dayton, Texas; grandchildren, Dacia Proehl, Jayden Wright, Trinity Wright and Jacey and Jovie Pargac; brothers Jack Wright and Shirley of Vilas, Colorado, Jerry Wright and Thayla of Raton, New Mexico and sister Pat Alford and Lawson of Memphis, Texas.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
