Terry Leon Howard November 30, 1954 - March 12, 2020 Age: 65. He passed away with his family by his side in Springfield, CO. Terry was born in Lakin, Kansas on November 30, 1954. He attended the Walsh grade and high schools and graduated in 1973. During his high school years he excelled in athletics. Terry was an all-state football player for the Walsh team that won state championships in 1970, 1971 and 1972. He was a 3 time state wrestling champion in the heavyweight division. Terry was also a state champion in the shot put and discus. After high school he married Shalah Hume and started farming and running cattle. Terry loved farming and ranching. Soon after getting married two sons came along, Brian Lane and Corbett Blaine. He enjoyed watching his boys in sports and activities. Terry retired from working when his health began to decline. The best part of his life happened when the grandchildren started to come. Terry loved spending time with his grandchildren, Mick 14, Izzy 11, and Pete 9. He loved watching them compete in their sports activities. Terry was always happiest teasing the grandchildren. When he wasn't spending time with the grandchildren he enjoyed watching football and westerns. Terry is survived by his wife Shalah of Walsh CO, children Lane of Frederick, CO and Corbett and Jodi of Walsh, CO, grandchildren Mick and Pete of Walsh, CO and Izzy of Frederick, CO, sisters Beverly (Larry) Frazee and Sharon (Ralph) Tate of Walsh, CO, brother in law and friend Dudley (Jana) Hume of Amarillo, TX and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents Edmund "Short" Bishop and Joan Bishop. A memorial service will be held at the Walsh Cemetery on March 18, 2020 at 10:00 am. Dykes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
