Obituary

Velda Jean Moller was born on May 2, 1926 in Bonham, Texas to Richard and Johnny Felsburg. She departed this life on the morning of January 15, 2016 at the Walsh Healthcare Center in Walsh, Colorado at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Johnny; a brother, John Wesley; her daughter, Janice Humphrey; and her husband, Donald E. Moller. Velda is survived by son, Jerry and wife, Marsha of Amarillo, Texas; a son-in-law, Leon Humphrey of Murphy, Texas; brother, Lee Felsburg and wife, Esther of St. Joseph, Missouri; sister, Evangeline Steele of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Richard Felsburg of Whitehall, Montana; and sister-in-law, Verla Barr of McMinnville, Oregon; grandchildren; Lance and wife Kristen Moller of Boca Raton, Florida; Ryan Moller of Amarillo, Texas; Jud and wife Corrie Moller of Amarillo, Texas; Kevin Humphrey of Crossroads, Texas; Kendall and wife Carol Humphrey of Crossroads, Texas; Jared and wife Sara Humphrey of Murphy, Texas; and Jeremy and wife Tasha Humphrey of Carthage, Texas; great grandchildren; MaKenzie, Riley, Matney, Noah, Jackson, and Samantha Moller; Conner, Evan, & Cade Humphrey; nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Velda's family lived in numerous communities throughout the Midwest during her early days. She graduated from Colorado Springs Bible High School and then attended Colorado Springs Bible College prior to her marriage. Donald Moller and Velda Felsburg were married on June 30, 1944. They remained a devoted couple to one another for over 70 years until Donald's death on August 6, 2014.
Don and Velda were blessed with two children, Janice and Jerry. Velda was devoted to her husband, children, and all the congregations that Donald and she served. She was a faithful wife and a kind and caring mother and grandmother. Velda loved people and loved serving the lord. She served in the ministry with Donald at Haigler, Nebraska; then Arthur, Nebraska; Oshkosh, Nebraska; Campo, Colorado; Imperial, Nebraska; Walsh, Colorado; Vilas, Colorado; and concluded their pastoral ministry at Walsh Wesleyan Church. Upon retirement, Donald and Velda had served 50 years in the ministry and Velda continued to serve as organist/pianist at the Walsh Wesleyan Church up until a few years ago when her health deteriorated. Velda was an integral part of Donald's ministry by helping in sermon preparation, playing the organ and piano, teaching Sunday school and VBS, and providing support to Donald in all of his pastoral endeavors. Velda was also a homemaker and worked in school cafeterias in many of the communities she resided in. Velda also assisted Donald in his lawn care business taking great pride in the Vilas and Walsh cemeteries.

Velda spent her later years at the Walsh Healthcare Center where she was loved and appreciated by residents and staff members. She received excellent and gracious care at the Walsh Healthcare Center. The family is very grateful to all those who cared for her during her stay at the Walsh Healthcare Center.
