William "Bill" James Sparks was born March 27th 1940 in Lamar, CO to Clarence P. Sparks and Helen Proctor Sparks. Bill passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 22nd 2025 at the age of 84. Bill is survived by daughter in law Cindy (Lynn) Orebaugh, of Two Buttes: son Chad (Janet) Sparks of Two Buttes; grandsons Benjamin Sean (Sami) Sparks of Springfield, Rusty Joe Sparks of Two Buttes, Clayton James Sparks of Two Buttes, along with several step-grandchildren.  Bill is also survived by sister-in-law Connie Vocke of Holly, and brother-in-law Don Von Hemel of Hot Springs Arkansas, along with numerous family members and many dear friends that will also cherish his memory.

Bill was preceded in death by parents Clarence and Helen Sparks,  wife of 47 years, Peggy, son Billy Joe, sisters Jean Lightner, Joyce Hartshorn, and Roylynn Von Hemel, and brother in law Loyd Vocke.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baca County Fair and Rodeo Inc., or Southeast Colorado Hospital Alzheimer's unit in Bill's memory.
